Publisher’s Weekly took the time to break down who’s doing digital-first comics and how they’re doing them. Not surprisingly, DC is running the game right now, and it’s basically time for the other companies to play catch up. What I find really interesting about this article is that they explain that the digital-first comics do get printed into paper versions for non-digital comic fans much in the same way paper versions of comics have digital counterparts now.
I have some arguments about their assertion that the “Batman Beyond” print versions didn’t do a lot of sales, but we’ll save that for another time.
